A new Zealand Made Weissenbourn lap slide guitar.

It amazes me what comes into my workshop
at times. This Weissenbourn guitar was built by
Syd R Mann in Waipukerau, New Zealand,
in the 1930's.
it features a carved NZ kauri back, solid kauri
sides and a carved cedar top.
It's and exceptionally well made, lightweight
instrument.

Syd's Label. I really wish I knew who this Luthier
was. He served in both wars then drove Taxis and
ambulances at home.

The Weissenbourn suffered from several age
and improper repair problems which I was
able to rectify

The fret board had to be removed and flattened
out as it had warped considerably.

The instrument features aluminium fret markers.

A new set of flat-wound strings and its back to
its owner.
