We love the amp but the cosmetics let this great product down BIG TIME!
Where did Fishman source their vinyl? It is easily the worst quality covering I have ever encountered.
The slightest abrasion causes the vinyl surface to come away like sunburnt skin.
It was time to address this problem as it was getting more and more unsightly.
We sourced some great covering material at a local fabric outlet store. It is an animal print which my wife favours. I have to agree with her that the result is far better visually and a great improvement on quality and durability over the original finish. It took me half a day and one can of spray adhesive.

I have the same issue with my Loudbox Mini. I chose a lighter print. Relatively straight forward job, except the corners are a bit finicky. This is my first time doing this sort of thing, so the results aren't perfect, but it's still much better than the original finish which was peeling off. I managed to replace the vinyl without removing the speakers. I just removed the grill and masked the speakers well to prevent any adhesive over-spray from damaging them.

What material ist the new covering? Have you sticked it on the amp?

Hi Hans.
First I took the entire amp cabinet apart until all the components could be worked on separately.
I removed the old tolex with my fingers and a plastic scraper, first peeling the loose material away, then rolling and scraping the residual adhesive until I exposed the bare timber of the cabinet components.
I used spray on contact adhesive on both surfaces, the new tolex and the cabinet components.
I bought new vinyl material, similar in thickness and flexibility to the material that came off, from our local fabric emporium.
My wife liked the funky tiger stripe animal print.
Hope this helps.
An experienced furniture upholsterer or car interior trimmer could do this work for you if you struggle.

Same problem. Ive cut new ply sides for mine....bit nervious bout that. Im in new zealand so new tolex will be a mission. Great sounding amps.
Like everyone else, I have the same problem. The tolex on my amp is falling apart. I have new tolex and have started taking the amp apart. I removed the chassis but don't see how to remove the sides, bottom and back panels. It looks like they are glued together but don't want to damage the panels. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.
